With 12 years of industry experience, Dr. Kantak serves as vice president of research for Nektar Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company in the San Francisco Bay Area that develops therapeutics based on their advanced polymer conjugate technology. As an expert in oncology drug research and development, Ms. Kantak oversees the research and preclincial development teams in San Francisco, USA and Hyderabad, India, and manages operations and finances for both divisions. She developed a passion for oncology early in her career and wanted to make a more effective impact in the lives of cancer patients and their families. She has worked in developing theraputics in other indication areas like inflammatory diseases, diabetes and carsiovascular. Her hard work, good mentors, knowledge in pharmacueutical development of small molecules and antibodies, government compliance and regulatory requirements are all reasons for Ms. Kantak's success in her profession.

Dr. Kantak holds a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology and a M.S. in Biology from Wayne State University School of Medicine and a master's degree in Biophysics from the University of Bombay. She is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research and American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Kantak would like to venture into working or consulting for companies who align more with her personal aesthetic for working with global companies and improving lives on a global basis.
