Dr. Vi Thuy Le Nguyen Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Pharmaceutical Services
Dr. Vi Thuy Le Nguyen brings expertise in Ambulatory Care to Banner Baywood Medical Center

QUEEN CREEK, AZ, June 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Vi Thuy Le Nguyen, Clinical Pharmacist for Banner Baywood Medical Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in pharmaceutical services.

A respected expert in Ambulatory Care (with emphasis in anticoagulation and congestive heart failure at this time), Dr. Nguyen will be celebrating her second anniversary with Banner Baywood, a non-profit acute-care hospital, in September 2010. As a clinical pharmacist, she functions as a therapeutic consultant who assesses patients at the initiation of drug therapy, develops patient care plans, educates and counsels patients, and monitors the patients throughout their course of therapy. Dr. Nguyen also communicates with physicians and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient status and clinical outcome. Dr. Nguyen considers having direct contact and great rapport with patients to be the most gratifying aspects of clinical work. She attributes her success to her perseverance and determination as well as the support that she receives from her family, particularly her mother.

Dr. Nguyen holds the Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Business Administration degrees from Mercer University in Atlanta, GA. She also completed her pharmacy practice residency at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Columbus, GA. She earned her Bachelor's in Economics from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. Her professional affiliations include the Arizona Pharmacy Alliance, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the American College of Clinical Pharmacology, the Anticoagulation Forum, and the Vietnamese American Medical Association. She also volunteers regularly in her local Vietnamese community. In five years, Dr. Nguyen hopes to obtain additional board certifications to be a Certified Anticoagulation Care Provider (CACP) and a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS), the highest recognition in the field of pharmacy.

Dr. Nguyen currently resides in Queen Creek, AZ with her husband, Dr. Vien Nguyen, MD - Internal Medicine.
