Christine Brennan, Ph.D. honored for professional efforts in pharmaceutical research

CAMBRIDGE, MA, April 20, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Christine Brennan, Ph.D., Executive Director of Strategic Alliances for Novartis Institutes of BioMedical Research Inc., has been named Cambridge Who's Who Executive of the Year in Pharmaceutical Research. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

Dr. Christine Brennan has 12 years of professional experience, with four of those years being dedicated to Novartis as Executive Director of Strategic Alliances. With a background in neurobiology and biochemistry, Dr. Brennan has garnered a reputation for her scientific expertise in neuroscience as well as her business development efforts to support disease and functional areas including neuroscience, infectious diseases and ophthalmology. Dr. Brennan's responsibilities with Novartis are numerous and diverse, handling strategy and operations and negotiating licenses for key scientific opportunities.

A graduate of Dartmouth Medical School in 1995, Dr. Brennan earned her Ph.D. in neurobiology. She also holds a bachelor of science in biochemistry from the University of New Hampshire, earned in 1990. Her professional affiliations include the Society for Neuroscience, Women Entrepreneurs in Science and Technology, Cambridge Biolink and Healthcare Businesswomen's Association.
