Clinical pharmacology is a challenging field where, at any given time, intense research and development determine the next generation of drugs that will be used by entire populations. As a seasoned clinical pharmacologist with more than 28 years of experience in drug development, Anne J. Paccaly treasures the opportunity she has to share her creative vision with others while having a hand at imprsoving human health. As a clinical pharmacologist with preclinical expertise, she focuses on translational medicine: an emerging perspective that combines basic scientific discoveries with the arena of clinical research in order to translate the results of clinical trials into clinical practice.
Born in Belgium and trained in Paris as a clinical pharmacologist, Dr. Paccaly moved to the United States in 1996 to fulfill her dream of changing people's lives for the better. She is delighted to participate in the new drug development paradigm that has taken the place of evidence-based medicine and attributes her success to being focused, determined and possessing leadership skills. Additionally, her dedication and willingness to help people progress in their careers separates her from others in the field.
Dr. Paccaly received a Pharm.D. and a degree in hospital pharmacy from Belgium's Universiteit Ghent. She obtained a Ph.D. from Universite Paris V and a Post Graduate Degree from the Universite Paris-Sud XI. She is a fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology and a member of the American Association for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, and Toastmasters International. Dr. Paccaly is a frequent contributor to industry-related journals and publications, where she facilitates the development of new and experimental drugs.
The career of a directing clinical pharmacologist is demanding, time-consuming and rewarding at the same time. In whatever spare moments she has, Dr. Paccaly enjoys participating in community work for Soroptimist International of the Americas (Princeton) and le Droit Humain (Princeton), traveling, reading and studying philosophy. Additionally, she serves as an educational consultant with Usborne Books at Home and as a Mary Kay independent beauty consultant.
