Effective Treatments Help to Decrease Cancer Mortality Rate

/Pharmaceutical News Articles/ - MONROVIA, CA, November 05, 2006 - The World Health Organization estimates that by 2020 cancer rates will double affecting 15 million people worldwide. However, a new report from the nation's leading cancer organizations found that death rates in America decreased for 11 of the 15 most common cancers in men and for 10 of the 15 most common cancers in women. The report names more effective treatments as one of the factors for the decline.

Continued success in lowering the cancer mortality rate will depend on maintaining and enhancing these efforts. An upcoming conference on Epigenetic Cancer Therapy will bring scientists together to discuss research that targets epigenetic processes for cancer therapy.
